Marian Gray Strickland, age 62 of Green Sea, died Friday, December 21, 2012 in McLeod Hospital in Florence. Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Marian Jason and Dulah Futrill Richardson.

As a member of Gapway Baptist Church, Mrs. Strickland loved singing in the choir, working in Vacation Bible School and attending WMU meetings. She also enjoyed working outdoors in her flowers and garden.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Elbert Strickland; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Strickland and wife Shanda of Fair Bluff, NC; two grandchildren: Jacob and Ethan Strickland; six sisters: Lucille Graham, Pearl Blanton, Betty Faye Davis and Kathy McDowell all of Loris, SC, Florence Williams of Myrtle Beach, SC and Margaret Williams of Florence, SC and one brother Billy Todd of Parsons, KS. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gapway Cemetery Fund, c/o Mildred S. Nobles, 4265 Buffkin Road, Green Sea, SC 29545.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in Gapway Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Steve Nobles.
