Val Lorie Stephens, 73, of Greenville, passed away December 22, 2012 in Greenville.
Val was born on February 14, 1939 in Kyle, TX to Noble Doherty and Alma Langford Doherty. Val was a fan of the University of Texas. Val is survived by son, Jodie Hoy and wife Eileen of Allen, TX; daughter, Sherry Bakkum and husband Randy of Greenville; sisters, Helen and Kathy Doherty; grandchildren Michael, Jennifer, Brandon, Brian S., Brian B., and Summer; great grandchildren, Odie, Preslie, Archer, and Hayden. Val was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman Stephens, and her children's father, Leroy Hoy. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Hart Cemetery. In liew of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
