Janet Cross passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2012 at age 81. To the end she was as beautiful on the outside as on the inside, a joy to her family and many friends, and someone who all loved to be with.
Janet was born in the small town of Horton, Kansas where her parents owned and operated Reed's Drug Store. While Janet was a teenager, her father served in World War II, after which they moved to San Antonio, Texas where Janet met her husband Lt. Jack Cross. She was a devoted military wife until Jack retired in 1968 and then supported Jack in his civilian career until he passed away in 1981. Janet then met her loving companion Henry (Hank) Marchionno and they moved to Florida in 1987. They enjoyed many years together before Hank passed away in 2004.
Janet loved to travel and gather with family and was extremely creative and artistic in multiple media. She was a beloved wife, companion, mother, sister and aunt and a good friend of many in Viera and Baytree.
Janet is survived by her son, Garrett, and his wife, Jane of Pacific Grove, CA; her sister, Helen Evans of Frederick, MD; her nephews Rickard Evans and Kenneth Evans and her nieces Sharon Thomas and Rev. Sandi Rogers.
A celebration Janet's life will be held on Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Beckman Williamson Funeral Home in Viera. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery , Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
