Waynesburg - Lee Fields, 77, of Waynesburg died Tuesday at his home.
Born May 9, 1924, in Letcher County, he was the son of the late Grover C. and Susan Day Fields. He was owner and operator of Fields Grocery and a minister at Rose of Sharon Old Regular Baptist Church where he was a member. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Caudill Fields; a son, Larry Fields of Richmond; two daughters, Evelyn Pentzien of Indianapolis and Bernice Bates of Waynesburg; two brothers, Coy Fields of Letcher County and Charles Fields of Mount Washington; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Hiram Fields.
Services will be 11 a. m. Friday at Rose of Sharon Old Regular Baptist Church by Murl Caudill, Bill Cotton, Ralph Howard and Wayne Turner. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
