Charles Ambrose McDonell was the son of Daniel Charles and Mary Elizabeth McDonald-McDonnell, he was born 9 Oct 1914 at Mullan Idaho where his father was a miner. At that time they lived in a small settlement above the Morning Mine, called Bingville. Amby and his two sisters grew up in the Mullan area and Wallace. Amby attended school at Wallace. 16 Aug 1939 Amby married LoVisa Jane Mann at Wallace. In about 1941 Amby joined the US Navy and served during World War II, after he was discharged, the couple moved to Portland Oregon where Amby attended Western States Chiropractic College. In 1945 they moved to Missoula Montana where Dr. McDonell sat up a practice, that he operated until multiple sclerosis forced him to retire. The couple had two children who grew up in Missoula. Dr. McDonell was the past president of the Montana Chiropractic Association, member of the American Chiropractic Association, member of the St. Francis Parish, Hellgate Elks Lodge 383, and the multiple sclerosis Society. Dr. McDonell passed away at a nursing home in Missoula 12 May 1982.
