Mrs. Carrie L. Hawkins
The funeral of Mrs. Carrie L. Hawkins of Fair Haven, widow of Alfred Hawkins, who died on Wednesday of last week at Mounmouth Memorial hospital, Long Branch, was held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Worden Funeral home, East Front street, with Rev. Dr. W. Calvin Colby, pastor of Rumson Presbyterian church officiating. Mrs. Edward A. Crozier and Mrs. Alida Davis sang "Will There be Any Stars in My Crown?"
After the religious service members of Fidelity council, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, conducted rites of that organization,with Mrs. Austin Harvey as councilor and Mrs. Crozier as chaplain. The hymn "Nearer, My God, to Thee," was sung. Members of the lodge were honorary bearers. The active bearers were Elmer VanBrunt, William Allen, Stephen Schultz, James Moran, Theodore Palise and William Sinclair.
Burial, in charge of the Worden funeral home, was in Evergreen cemetery, Little Silver.
