He was born September 22, 1926 to Elmer and Verna (Boster) Thornton.
Wayne was known throughout Jackson County as the "The Egg Man". He had a poultry farm and delivered eggs to local residents and businesses from 1956-2006. He also loved watching sports, especially when his grandchildren were involved.
Wayne is survived by
his wife of 61 years, Mary (Lewis) Thornton;
daughters, Judi Booth of Kentucky and Lynn (Billy) Starkey of Jackson, OH;
three grandchildren, BJ (Tandy) Starkey, Kristen (Jake) Taylor and Nick (Lana) Starkey;
three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Rhys Taylor and Jenna Starkey.
Wayne was preceded in death by
his brothers, Vance and Omar, both of Jackson;
one sister, Audrey, of Florida.
