Roberta E. O'Dell, 90, of Kuna, passed away at a local care center on Thursday, 20 December, 2012.
Roberta was born on 16 December, 1922 on a hilltop homestead near Slater, Colorado to Oscar and Morna Belle Pearson, the oldest of three children. At the age of 5 she and her family moved to Melba, Idaho and began farming. She graduated from Melba High School in 1940.
Roberta loved dancing and met the love of her life, Verl O'Dell, at a local dance. They were married in 1942 and began their 68 year plus journey together which included raising two sons and forming numerous lifelong friendships. In 1948 they purchased a farm in Kuna where they would remain for the rest of their lives.
Roberta was active in the community and loved to travel where she was able to visit Germany, France, Korea, Hawaii and numerous other locations in the U.S. She loved being involved with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was always there to help and could always be counted on.
In retirement Roberta and Verl remained active in the Nampa Elks Lodge #1389 and continued their lifelong love of dancing and socializing with friends throughout the Treasure Valley until Verl's passing in 2011.
She loved life, her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Roberta is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Sandi), of Melba, and Gary (LaRene), of Kuna; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her precious kitty and companion, "Pretty Girl".
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister (Edna Wood) and brother (Bud Pearson).
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Trinity Mission Healthcare Center (Holly), Nampa and Heart 'n Home Hospice for their compassionate care during this most important final chapter.
The memorial service in honor of Roberta will be held at Thursday, 27th of December, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Alsip Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. So., Nampa, followed by interment at the Melba Cemetery.
