The Roland Record, Roland, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, April 4, 1934.

DIED AT STORY CITY

Eric L. Ericson, 73, postmaster at Story city for the last 12 years, died about one o'clock Sunday afternoon after a long illness with heart trouble. The funeral was held at St. Petri church in Story City yesterday afternoon with interment in Fairview cemetery. Rev. W. B. Scarvie officiated.

Mr. Ericson was born at Newark, Ill., June 2, 1860, and came to Story county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thor Ericson in 1864. They settled first on a farm southwest of Story City.

After attending the Story City schools he attended Iowa State college at Ames and graduated from that institution and taught school for a number of years. Later he was engaged in the lumber and grain business for a time and finally moved to his farm where he lived until appointed postmaster nearly twelve years ago and this position he has since held.

Mr. Ericson was married three times. The first wife was Gurine Larson and by her there are two living children, they being Mrs. Sarah Mitchell of Balboa, Canal Zone, and Sherman Ericson of Roland.

Next he was married to Miss Ada Harrison and to this union two children were born, Vivian Ericson of Huron, S. D., and Wesley Ericson of Indianola.

He was married the third time, in 1928, to Mrs. Anna Williams. She with the four children survive him, as does one sister, Mrs. Helen Hanson of near Jewell.
