Betty had lived in Marshall most of her life, was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and GFWC Coterie Club. At the time of her death, she was grandmother to four grandchildren, as well as aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Albert E. Janes, and sisters Dorthea Gatchell, Carolyn Ann Heverin and Rose Brenizer. Funeral services were held December 22, 2012, followed by burial in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
