HENRY ANDRUS

Henry Andrus, 80, who had been a patient in a Rochester hospital since the middle of December, died there Thursday afternoon, April 2. Mr. Andrus, who made his home at Mrs. Florence Morrow's, Dolbeer St., the past fifteen years, was taken ill at Thanksgiving time. He was a patient in the Community hospital, Warsaw, until his removal to Rochester.

Mr. Andrus was born in Perry December 10, 1859, a son of Martin and Mary Andrus. His father was a prominent citizen of this community. In his youth he traveled as a salesman, working extensively in the South and West. Later he was a popular clerk in several Perry business places including Wise's Department store, Cole's shoe store and Lillibridges. Until a few years ago he had been employed by the Perry Knitting Company. Mr. Andrus was a man of pleasant personality with a wide circle of friends.

He was married to Delia Alvord in 1886. She died the same year. On June 11, 1890, he was united in marriage to Lillie Mosher. A sister Clara died in 1886 and two half-brothers, Eugene and Fred, preceded him in death.

Mr. Andrus leaves three cousins, a first cousin, Mrs. Mary Tabor of Dansville and second cousins, Miss Bessie Andrus and Lawrence Hurst of Perry.

The funeral service was held in the Eaton Funeral home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Rev. Clifford Bristow officiating, and burial was in Hope cemetery.
