Funeral services for Eithel Evelyn Kirkland Dougherty, 76, Rogersville, Missouri, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri, with Mark Broyles officiating.

Burial will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery, Dawt, Missouri, at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Dougherty died Saturday, December 29, 2007, in the home of her daughter in Platte City, Missouri.

She was born September 22, 1931, in Udall, Missouri. Mrs. Dougherty was the eighth of nine children born to Jesse Bennett Kirkland and Pearl Mae Taylor Kirkland.

Most of her life was spent in the Kansas City, Mo., and Springfield, Mo., areas. She married Joseph Robert Dougherty on September 30, 1949, and was preceded in death by him on February 22, 2004. They were long-time members of the church of Christ, with Mrs. Dougherty most recently being a member of Walnut Lawn church of Christ. Mrs. Dougherty loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed being an Avon representative in the Springfield area for the last 20 years. Her friends and family will always remember her steadfast Christian faith and life.

Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Ronald L. and Kathe Dougherty of Lawrence, Kan., Ed G. and Julie Dougherty of Kansas City, Mo., and John R. and Stephanie Dougherty of Springfield, Mo.; and one daughter and her spouse, Lorna J. and Larry Salmons of Platte City, Mo. Grandchildren are Wesley Salmons and his wife, Davina, Sarah Salmons, Angela Schlabach and her husband, Lavern, Jenny, Matt, and Drew Dougherty, and Ben, Philip, and Katie Dougherty. Her great-grandchildren are Adelynn Salmons and Carter Schlabach. She is also survived by a sister and her spouse, Frankie Kirkland Rowlett and Bob Rowlett of Mountain Home, Ark.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association , 2446 E.
