She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in Relief Society Presidencies, choir, Primary and many other positions. She loved music and had a beautiful alto voice. She sang for many years with a women's quartet called "A Woman's Touch". She also sang solo at numerous funerals and other events.
Cindy loved sewing and made many beautiful quilts and projects. She most recently became very creative making handmade cards for her many family and friends and won awards for her cards. Her favorite past times were playing cards, going to movies and spending time with family and friends.
One of her favorite places was to go to their lot at Sour Dough Ranch and enjoyed the natural beauty of the mountains and wildlife. She always looked so forward to the time spent there.
Cindy is survived by her husband, O. Wayne Porter and three sons, Cameron Porter of Layton, Jace Porter of Ogden, and Jordan (Danielle) Porter of Ogden. Also survived by her parents, Abbott and Nancy Hammons Mikesell of Morgan Utah, six brothers and sisters: Kami (Ivan) Lambson of Murray Utah, Celia (Jeff) Evans of Reno Nevada, Sharma (Charles) Johnson of Layton Utah, Trent (Karen) Mikesell of Roy Utah, Todd (Lisa) Mikesell of Ogden Utah and Mitch (Diana) Mikesell of Ogden and one step granddaughter, Alita Gilbert of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
