Ogden – On 12/18/2012, our world lost an amazing woman. Sylvia "Mildred" Stone was born in Downy, ID on January 16, 1919, the daughter of Seth J.B. and Sylvia M. Jensen Stone. She was the second of six children. Growing up during the depression ensured that they weren't rich in possessions, but they were rich in love and laughter, always playing together, teasing each other and helping each other. The love she had for her family was strong and unconditional.

She moved to Ogden at an early age and attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School. She served a full time LDS Mission to Texas-Louisiana Mission-later changed to the Gulf States Mission, returning to Utah afterwards. Mildred lived in CA for a short while but returned to UT to be with her family. She worked and retired from Defense Depot Ogden.

Mildred never married but lived her life showing love and service to all around her. She took care of her mother as she aged with devotion and affection, always showing patience and love. She had many nieces and nephews whom she adored and spoiled rotten. She loved us like her own and was always there with a funny story or to read our fortunes. Mildred loved to tell stories and would make up some of the wildest tales that would keep us on the edge of our seat and have us begging for "just one more". She had a sharp sense of humor and loved to tease.

Even in her later years, Mildred had a soft spot in her heart for "the little kiddies". She loved all children and would giggle and play with them at every opportunity. She was happiest when she was around children. She had a strong testimony of our lord, Jesus Christ and lived her life in a manner that spoke for itself.

Mildred was preceded in death by her father, Seth J.B. Stone, her mother, Sylvia M. Jensen Stone, sisters, Iris (Gilbert) Miller, Ruth Minardi, Alice (Eugene) Mallory and Josephine (Kenneth) Rawson, brothers, Donald (Marilyn) Stone, and nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her brother-in-law, Eugene Minardi, nephews, Donald (Linda, deceased) (Beverly) Miller, Murray (Maurine) Stone, David (Betty) Stone, Debbie (Curtis) Campbell, Gary (Pamela) Minardi, Blake (JoAnn) Minardi, Nannette (Donald) Wood, Robyn (Steven) Skidmore, James (Becky) Rawson, Susan (Mitchell) Spencer, Jolene (James) Hodgson, Kirk (Janet) Rawson and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all the family members who took part in giving Mildred such loving care and support. We would also like to thank Crestwood Care Center for the wonderful, loving care that they provided over the past few years, and Dr. Wood, Julie, Mary, Marcos, and the full team at IHC Hospice for the tender love that Mildred received her last few days.
