Dale Ray Atteberry, 52, of Oklahoma City, passed away June 17, 2008, after a lengthy battle with diabetes and kidney disease.

Dale was born October 3, 1955, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Edsel Ray Atteberry and Mary Jane (Proctor) Atteberry. The family moved to Del City when Dale was a young man and he spent the remainder of his life in Del City.

Dale graduated from Del City High School and he had several jobs in the Mid-Del area, the longest of which was with Brannon Food Stores in Del City.

Dale was an avid reader of military history, especially the World War II era.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

His is survived by his sister, Linda Caban and her husband, Ruben his niece, Marisa his nephew, Mitchell and his nephew, Matt and Matt's wife, Bekah, all of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by several extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association (

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2008, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast chapel, 5005 S.E. 29th Street, Del City, OK, with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery following.
