He was born Aug. 10, 1931, to James Henry and Pearl Ann Sumner of Corsicana. Jimmy lived in Dawson before moving to Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Tyler where he made many friends and received excellent care. He served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard carriers, the USS Valley Forge and the USS Oriskany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie; four sisters; and two brothers.
Jimmy was a body donor to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
