He was born in Harlan to the late William Hayden and Mabel Farmer Stanifer.
He was a retired training coordinator for the Dixie Cup Division, formerly American Can. Prior to retirement, he was active in Junior Achievement, member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he was a member of the J. C. Wilson Sunday School Class. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WWII.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Fred Stanifer and a grandson, Ken Payne.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday at Milward – Southland with burial to follow in the Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
