Lela Grace Bandimere was born on 26 Mar 1911 in Sugar City, Crowley Co, Colorado to Fred and Anna Belle (Hatton) Bandimere. The family moved to Golden in 1914 where Lela went to school and graduated from Golden High School. Upon graduation, she started work at the Woodmen of the World Insurance Company. There she met Ernest Henninger (deceased), who was top salesman for the Woodmen, and whom she later married. They moved to California where their first child, Phyllis Ann (deceased), was born in 1939. After moving back to Denver they had three more children: Grace in 1944, Ernie in 1946 and Jack in 1951. After 24 years, the marriage ended and the family moved back to Golden. Lela had to restart her career by going to Opportunity School to brush up on her secretarial skills. She went to work for the Denver Public Schools as a secretary at the Service Building and eventually worked as head of the lunchroom staffs for each school. While working at the Service Building she met Frank Caron, who worked in the carpenter shop as a cabinet maker. They decided to make their common interests in fishing and renovating everything from furniture to rentals permanent and married in 1983. They were married in a small ceremony at Lela's home in Golden and the two of them lived happily on the ranch until Frank's death in 2003. Because of her failing health, she became a resident of several care facilities. In 2011 she celebrated her 100th birthday with her cousin Eva Belle, who is her same age, surrounded with family and friends.

Reflecting on her life, though she was not involved with her dad's finances, she was the matriarch who provided the glue that brought together the extended sibling families for holidays, and was always available to lend an ear when needed during times of trial. She spent many hours in her kitchen baking literally everything from soup to nuts for distribution to family and friends. This was a great lesson to all of how to let your actions speak louder than your words.

She will always be remembered for the love of her Lord and Savior, her open door at mealtime and the aromas that emanated from her kitchen during holidays.

She was the last of her siblings to be with the Lord, surviving her sister Irene, brothers Horace, John and David Bandimere and daughter Phyllis Ann.
She is survived by daughter Grace, sons Ernie and Jack, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is now reunited with her Frank and family, whom she longed to be with again.
