Ruth E. Reitz, 90, of Kutztown died Dec. 17, 2012, in Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville. She was the widow of Dr. Melvin L. Reitz, who died June 15, 2011.
Born in Albany Township, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Morris and Florence (Huntzinger) Krause.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown. Mrs. Reitz was educated in the Upper Mahoney Township School System. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, reading, traveling and music. Mrs. Reitz was an accomplished pianist and organist. Throughout her life, she participated in many church activities and committees.
She is survived by a son, two daughters, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Johanna Snyder, in 1990; and two brothers. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Stony Run.
