Kathleen A. "Kate" Brandyberry, 83 of Decatur died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Kate was born in Decatur on October 12, 1929 to the late Joseph and Hazel (Tumbleson) Kortenber. On January 6, 1962 she married Klesson A. Brandyberry. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1996.
Kate was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and was an extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. She worked for GE and Duo, Signa & Thunderbird where she retired in 1991.
She is survived by a son Thomas J. (Nora) Niblick and a daughter Nancy A. (Mark Ranly) Niblick both of Decatur; two sisters Mary Kortenber of Decatur and Theresa Evans of Ft Wayne; two grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Melissa S. Niblick, granddaughter Jennifer A. Niblick, grandson Jeremy G. Kruse, 3 brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Parish Hall. Reciting of the Holy Rosary will be at 1:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Dec. 21st at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church with calling 1 hour prior from Noon-1:00 p.m. Father David Voors officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are to St. Mary's Building on our Heritage and St. Joseph School.
