Anderson - Elsie Dean Ratliff Baker, 86, Anderson, died May 22, 2002 at Community Hospital, Anderson after brief illness. She was born October 18, 1915 in Claiborne, Tennessee, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. She lived in this area since 1974. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Chesterfield, She was always active in the church in the areas she lived prior to moving to Indiana. She was a member of and attended Duncan Chapel Baptist Church in Tennessee. After moving to Anderson, she became a charter member of Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was affectionately known to young and old as mamaw Baker. She is survived by her four children: Jack & wife Janice Baker of Pendleton. Jean Miracle of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Jerri & husband Cletis Earl of Middletown. Janie & husband Roy Clem of Molena, Georgia. One Brother: Paul & wife Inell Ratliff of Maryville, Tennessee. One Sister: Allie & husband Brack Brewer of Anderson. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews including a special nephew: Bill Gibson. She was preceded by her husband of 71 years: Charles Henry Baker on December 26, 2001. Parents: John & Delia Waddell Ratliff. Daughter: Helen Baker. Four Brothers: Mark Ratliff, John Ratliff Jr., Ned Ratliff and Luke Ratliff. Two Sisters: Ada Wilson and Hazel Gibson. Services will be Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 11:30 am, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel. 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson., with Pastor Eric Lambert and Rev. Dwayne Stapleton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson . Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2002 at funeral home, south chapel.
