A long time resident of Denver, Ms. Cooke was born August 28, 1924 in Imperial California. She retired after 31 years with the Veterans Administration as the head dietician for the VA hospital in Denver. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, an avid world traveler, helped many charities and loved to play bridge with her friends. Gertrude was preceded in death by three sisters Pauline Campbell, Eugene, OR, Lucille McClanahan, Claremont,CA, Laura O'Brien, Tecumseh, MI two brothers Charles Cooke, Forrest Hill, CA, and Walter Cooke, Imperial CA. She is survived by one sister Esther Martin of Tustin CA and many nieces and nephews.
