Lucy B. Johnson, 84, 926 W. Jackson St., died Monday at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Albany, the daughter of Frank and Amelia Edwards Coulter. She graduated from Albany High School and had been a resident of this area all her life.
She received her nursing degree in 1957 from the Ball Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Ball Memorial Hospital in 1970. She was a member of the Ball Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, TDC Club in DeSoto, and People's Sympathy Club.
Mrs. Johnson was a former member of DeSoto United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph W. and Rachel Johnson, and John and Velda Johnson, all of Muncie, and Wendel "Jack" and Emma Johnson, Yorktown; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty S. Johnson Dixon and Fred Dixon, Naples, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Theodore Cox, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson, Eaton; and a sister-in-law, Violet Coulter, Albany.
Her husband, Lora V. Johnson, is deceased, as a son, James Johnson; a brother, Mark Coulter; two half-brothers, Francis and Asa Coulter; and three sisters, Cuba Conduitt, Mary Jane Skeen and Beulah Nelson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery, Albany. Calling will be 5-8 p.m. today and before services Wednesday at the mortuary.
