Edna C. Adkins, 95, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Heritage Hall in King George County. Mrs. Adkins was the former owner Dot's Beauty Shop in Fredericksburg. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in King George. She was the widow of Milton L. Adkins. She is survived by two sisters, Gladys M. Coates of Index and Barbara C. Owens of Montross; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret C. Wholey, and a brother, Frank F. Coates Jr. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Ron Okrasinski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Oak Grove. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
