WATSON ELTINGE, SR.
Watson Eltinge, Sr., a life long resident of New Paltz, died Jan. 7th, in Albany, where he had gone to spend the winter with his daughter.
He had been in failing health for a number of years, but was confined to his room only a short time before death came.
He was the oldest son of the late Nathaniel Eltinge and Anna Maria Wurts.
Mr. Eltinge spent the better part of his life on the farm, but had lived in the village for the past fifteen years.
He was a member of the Reformed Church and always interested in its welfare. He was a charter member of Huguenot Grange.
Besides his widow he leaves four sons, Charles of New Canaan, Conn.; Martin of New York; Watson, Jr., of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Gerow of Newark, N.J.; and four daughter, Mrs. W. W. Post of Irvington, N.J.; Mrs. G.E. Fisher of Albany, N.Y.; Mrs. M.E. Golden of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. L.W. Putscher of Cranford, N.J.; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Helen B. Elting of New Paltz and Mrs. Ida A. Browne of New York.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Reformed Church. Burial was in New Paltz cemetery.
