Margaret A. Valentine of West Middlesex, passed away 10:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 89.

Mrs. Valentine was born May 4, 1923, in Pulaski to Andrew and Anna Kocineky Saniski.

A homemaker, she was an active member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, where she served as a greeter and was part of the quilters club.

Margaret was a member of the Slovenian Workingmen's Educational Club of Sharon and was involved with Keystoners Lodge 755 and the Pensioners Club.

Marge was an accomplished quilter and crocheter. She volunteered countless hours crocheting at church and donating afghans for infants to local hospitals and nurseries.

She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed riding her golf cart, gardening, raising chickens, baking and caring for her most beloved rescue dogs, Buddy, Buster and Sammy. Marge loved all creatures.

Her husband, John Valentine, whom she married July 23, 1949, passed away Aug. 16, 2005.

Surviving are: four sons, John A. Valentine and his wife Judy, West Middlesex; Robert A. Valentine and his wife Carole, Pulaski; Ronald F. Valentine, Hermitage; and David A. Valentine and his wife Brenda, Hermitage; a sister, Dorothy and her husband Mike Bohonik, New Bedford, Pa.; a brother, John Saniski, Greenville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter, Shirley Valentine; an infant grandson; two sisters, Mary Gavlic and Helen Dlacic; and two brothers, Andy Saniski and Steve Saniski.
