One of the Lord's elect daughters, LaJean Sessions Call, passed away on her 90th birthday, December 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Denice and Sam Gallegos in West Jordan, Utah.

She was born December 10, 1922, the oldest of three daughters of Odell Holt and Altha Parker Sessions, in the home of her grandparents in Clinton, Utah. She was raised in Ogden, attended the Ogden City schools for ten years, graduated from Weber High School, Weber Jr. College and L.D.S. Institute where she was in the first graduating class.

She graduated from Utah State Agricultural College and L.D.S. Institute in Logan in June 1944 and completed an internship in the Seattle Course for Hospital Dieticians the following year. After working in Seattle for a year and a half she returned to Logan to be the first dietician at the Logan Regional Hospital.

On April 5, 1951, LaJean married Fred Elmo Call in the Logan LDS Temple and felt blessed to become the mother of his two beautiful children, Fred Jr. and Jane. After living in Texas, California, Oregon, Logan and Idaho they moved to Roy where she was the dietician at the Weber County Hospital for five years. Twenty months ago she moved in with Denice and Sam.

Her greatest joy came from her family and participation in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society most of her adult life and as a Stake Missionary in Seattle. With her husband she completed missions to the Virginia Roanoke and Texas Dallas Missions. Gardening and reading were important to her as were Temple work and the Church's extraction program. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for 53 years.

Her husband, Fred, passed away September 25, 2000. Surviving are her seven children, Fred Call, Jr., Salt Lake City; Jane (Scott) Woodbury, South Weber; Boyd (Dianne) Call, Layton; Reed (Kim) Call, Lexington, SC; Denice (Sam) Gallegos, West Jordan; Lisa (Duane) Whitbeck, Webb City, MO; Glenn Call (Lance Van Buren), Salt Lake City; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, plus two baby girls due in January; and two sisters, Faye (Robert) Hawkins, Orem; and Marilyn (Dean) Parker, Logan.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Denice and Sam for their tender loving care and to Suzie and Bonnie of IHC Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Humanitarian Services or Perpetual Education Fund
