Jim was united in marriage to Shelly Fast on Jan. 2, 1970 in Denison, IA. To this union two sons were born, Richard and Scott. Jim was employed with the Glenwood Resource Center and enjoyed helping the Lincoln family farm. His many interests included woodworking, reading, playing video games, hunting, fishing, camping, birding and raising flowers. It was said that Jim could fix just about anything and was very clever and intelligent. He continued his love of learning his entire life. Spending time with his seven granddaughters gave him great joy as each of them had something special they would do together.
As Jim's illness progressed, he was the first patient admitted to the new Hospice With Heart facility where his family felt that they all received wonderful care and compassion as Jim made his transition.
