Roger E. Stanton, 92, went to be in the arms of the Lord, Monday, March 17, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris E. Stanton. He was a loving and devoted father to Elizabeth "Peg" and her husband Robert Muth, Janet Creager, Mary Lu and her husband Robert Coolbaugh. He was a very proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, David Muth, Darlene Schrader, Eric Muth, Pamela Fitzgerald, James Creager, Scott Coolbaugh, Lisa Smith, Michael Coolbaugh and Linda Sasser; 14 great-grandchildren; one stepsister, Sally Morgan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lanton; dearly devoted sister-in-law, Alberta Scott; and a faithful cousin, Robert and his wife Jeannine Stanton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He retired from Kroehler Manufacturing after 40 years of service. He was a very active longtime member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Otseningo Lodge #435 and F&AM for 45 years where he was Master in 1961. He then transferred to Johnson City Unity Lodge #970 F&AM in 1998. We would like to thank both the staff of Good Shepherd Fairview Home and South Tower 3 at Wilson Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion that was given to our father.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Towers officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to Fairview United Methodist Church, 252 Robinson St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13904, or the Good Shepherd Fairview Home, 80 Fairview Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13904
