FREMONT - Dixie L. Binsack, 75, of Fremont passed away quietly Monday evening at Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on September 28, 1933 in Huntington, WV, to Earl and Edna (Drown) Adkins. On January 3, 1952 she married Joseph H. Binsack, he preceded her in death on July 28, 1991. Dixie retired from Eaton Controls after 38 years of service in 1991. She was currently employed by the Sandusky County Board of Elections. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, President of the Sandusky County Council for Retarded Persons, an active member of the Fremont Exchange Club, a founding member of the Sandusky County Food Pantry, former President of Sandusky County Women Democrats, secretary for the Sandusky County Democratic Party, a member of Fremont Plaza Bowling League, and a former member of Fremont Credit Union Board. She was active at St. Joseph's Church, a bereavement planner, who dedicated her time to planning and preparing funeral luncheons and funeral masses for the parish. She operated "Dixie's Hot Dog Heaven" at the Sandusky County Fair and ran concessions at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway. Dixie enjoyed Bingo and bowling.
Surviving are her children, Deborah (Rick) LeJeune, Brenda (Dale) Brinkdopke, Joyce (Ken) Schneider; grandchildren, Michele (Wesley) Mong, Jami Brinkdopke, Andrew (Kristen) Brinkdopke, Delian Schneider; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Holly, and Brayden; siblings, Tom, Sue, Phyllis, Linda, Wilma, Robert, Danny, and David. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Kenneth, Phillip, Roy, and Roger.
Visitation will take place Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 with a wake service at 8 P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral and Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio.
Mass of Resurrection will be Friday at 1: 30 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, with Fr. Ron LeJeune officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the School of Hope, or St. Joseph Catholic Church
