Well known artist who worked for Timely Comics in the 1940's creating dynamic action covers for Captain America, the Human Torch, Sub-Mariner and other superheroes. Alex illustrated hundreds of covers during the golden age of comics. Many of his famous covers included WW II themes of Nazis, Japanese, pretty girls, explosions, and numerous weapons. Alex retired from comics in the early 1950's to focus his career on science fiction themes for magazines and books. In later years of his career, Alex preferred to use airbrush as his illustration medium.
