Arvid (Buck) Ackerson was born September 19, 1906 in Blue Rapids, Kansas the son of John Henry and Maude Lucrecia Reed Ackerson and moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa as a small child. He married Mildred Dorothy Ekstrom of Duncombe, Iowa on February 25, 1930 and to this union was born two children, a son Robert of Hot Springs, South Dakota and a daughter Maxine (Mrs. Robert) Chambers of rural Knoxville. He moved from the Fort Dodge area to Marion county in 1937 where he was engaged in farming and in later years operated the 181 Trading Post. He passed away on May 24, 1973 at Collins Hospital at the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 6 days.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and a brother Marion, also one brother in infancy.
