Bobby Norman Bowen, 78 of Community Ave. in Putney died December 15, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 AM at Putney United Methodist Church. Rev. Cathy Green officiating. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
A native of Durham, NC, Mr. Bowen has lived in Albany since 1971, where he was a member of Putney United Methodist Church and choir. He was retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service, having served during Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Bowen enjoyed fishing and wood working. He will always be remembered for the love he gave to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janet M. Bowen of Albany, GA, children, David Bowen and his wife Barbara of Senoia, GA and Laura Shearer and her husband Bruce of Albany, grandchildren, Daniel Cook, Julie Bowen, Jennifer Copelan, Jessica Jones and Lauren Jones, great grandchildren, Chase Copelan and Cameron Johnston.
