Theodore R. Schirm, 84, Alexandria, R.D. 1, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, November 13, 1989, in Altoona Hospital.

Born January 7, 1905, in Porter Township, he was the son of the late Hayes and Jennie (Goodman) Schirm. He was united in marriage to the former Sara A. Burkett by the Rev. G. R. Alban on September 1927, in Mount Union. His wife preceded him in death on May 7, 1962.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. William (Betty) Kyle, Alexandria, R.D., Carlton Schirm, Alexandria, R.D., and Donald Schirm, Washington, D. C.; a grandson, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. Virginia Montz, Alexandria, R.D., and Mrs. Patricia Wall, Marklesburg. Mr. Schirm was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

He was a member of Christ Reformed Church, UCC, Alexandria.

He retired as foreman from Crescent Brick Company, Altoona, which had formerly been known as Alexandria Fire Clay Company.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, at the Robert I. Grove Funeral Home, Alexandria, with the Rev. Karen Moeschberger officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 14, from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
