Hazen Anthony was the youngest of five children born to Henry Anthony, a hard-working farmer, and Esther (Essie) Anthony, his beloved mother. He was born in Lower Onslow, in the Colchester District of Nova Scotia, Canada. Hazen's four older siblings included two brothers (Lester Anthony, born Oct 1889 and Reacher Anthony, born Aug 1891) and two sisters (Myrtle Anthony, born Jan 1894 and Alicia *Elysia* Anthony, born April 1896.)
The Anthony family immigrated to the United States from Nova Scotia, Canada in 1907, when Hazen was 9 years old. They came to Massachusetts where the young family would settle, making Boston their home for years to come.
Hazen Anthony resided and worked in Massachusetts for many years after arriving to the United States. He married Tina (Tena) Mary Hennessey. The young couple eventually had three sons (John Henry "Jack" Anthony, Charles Clyde "Tony" Anthony and Edward Hazen Anthony.)
After losing his beloved wife Tena in 1942 to illness (believed to be complications arising from pneumonia), Hazen eventually remarried. Mary Anthony became his second wife.
Hazen Anthony died in Massachusetts at the approximate age of 60.
