Richard Maxon was born 1602 in England, and died Aug 20, 1643 in a Pequoin Indian Massacre, Pelham Bay, Long Island, NY, but is reportedly buried at Westerly, RI.

He married Rebecca Marbury on Jan 02, 1627/28 in London, England.

Richard came to America on the ship, "Griffen" in 1634.

Ann, Rebecca and Catherine Marbury were all daughters of Rev. Frances Marbury and Bridget Dryden of London, England.

On Sept. 1643, Ann Hutchinson and five of her children were massacred by Pequot Indians at Pelham Bay, Long Island, New York.
Ann`s youngest child, Susanna was taken captive. She was released four years later.
Richard Maxson and his family escaped by small boat. Richard and son, Richard went back to try to help Ann and her children. They also were killed by the Indians. Rebecca and her remaining children rowed the boat to safety at Rhode Island.
