George H. Rexford, one of Frankfort,
Kansas oldest and most respected citizens
passed away last evening September 13,
1911 at his home, after a illness of two
months from paralysis, at the age of
80 years, 2 months and 7 days.

Mr. Rexford was born in Canada and
moved to New York when he was a
young man. He was married to Miss
Adaline Colvin at Moline, New York
in 1854, who along with his son and
daughter still survive him. His son
George L. Rexford lives in Great Falls,
Montana, his daughter Mrs. T.S. Warner
has been with him during his last illness
and assisted her mother in caring for him.

Mr. Rexford and his family came to
Frankfort in 1869, and for a number of
years he ran a blacksmith shop on the
ground where his fine business building
stands now. He afterwards engaged in
the implement business with very good
success. He was a representative citizen,
a fine workman, strictly honest and
honorable in all his dealings and well
liked by everyone.

He had been feeble for a number of years,
but on July 6th he had suffered a stroke
of paralysis, and since that time he has
been unable to be out. His death is not
unexpected, since he had been growing
weaker and weaker each day.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m.
at the Presbyterian church on Friday.
