Marie Scholastique Payet was the daughter of Pierre Payet-dit-St-Amour (1767-1832) and 3rd wife, Madeleine Terrien (1791-?). She was born May 8, 1812 and baptised on May 10th at Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville, Qc.

On October 3, 1831 at Montreal (Notre Dame) she married Pierre Regimbal (1806-1873). Her first child, Pierre was born in 1832 and died at 6 days old. Pierre 'Peter' (1833-1915) came next and lived a full life, eventually migrating to St Paul, Minnesota.

Daughter, Henriette was born in 1834 and died after 17 days. Scholastique's other children were Joseph (1835-1914), Emilie (1837-1870), Lucie (1839-1880), Adolphe (1841-1851), Charles (1843-1927), Philomene (1846-1848), Frank (1848-1908), Arsile (1850-1875), Stanislas (Jun, 1852-July, 1852), Fabien (1853-1928), and Moyse 'Mose' (1855-1941).

After the death of her husband Pierre Regimbal, Scholastique migrated to Crookston with her son Charles, who altered the spelling of his name to "Regeimbal" when he was naturalized.

Her other surviving sons also emigrated to the US, taking the name of their grandfather, Jerome. When sons Mose and Fabien relocated from Crookston to Moxee City, Washington they restored the Regimbal surname. Her descendants since that time, are known as the Jerome, Regimbal and Regeimbal families. She is buried in St Peter's Cemetery with her son Charles' surname.
