Russian Prince. he was a renowned violinist, who composed some violin and vocal pieces. In 1896-1901 he headed the St. Petersburg String "Quartet Mecklenburg", organized by the Duke Georgy Mecklenburg, grandson of Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich. In 1901-1924 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory, becoming a Professor in 1912. Amounted to a "full course of violin playing", consisting of 12 books.
