He was born, the last of seven children, to James Rufus and Bessie Beatrice Grady Nutt. He was born July 6,1938, in Alba. He served in the U.S. Air Force during his younger years. He worked as a Fleet Service Clerk for American Airlines, and, after many years ended up retiring from there.
In the mean time, he married Jayne LaNell Albord. They married on June 24, 1978 in Irving.

Brothers: Junior Nutt & wife, Anita, of Emory David Nutt & wife, Ernestine, of Edgewood Sister: Winnie Laymon of Semi Valley, CA Grandchildren: Preston Henry, and Madison Henry Numerous loving nieces and nephews A host of loving friends and church family.
Preceded in death by: Parents; 3 sisters, Racheal Nutt, Alma Moody, and, Mary Boswell 1 Brother, Bill Nutt Also, 2 nieces.
