From A Find A Grave visitor (Erin)---

Gerald Holland peacefully passed away on December 15, 2012 at 2:40 p.m. He was surrounded by family including his wife of 71 years, Bonnie Holland. Gerald was born October 26, 1919 to Alfred and Tressie Holland. He graduated from Union High School and enlisted in the Army/Air Force in January 1942, only 1 month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After 3 years of courageous service to our country, he was honorably discharged on July 7, 1945. Mr. Holland worked for Mobil Oil for 32 years in Tulsa and Del City, OK. before his retirement. Although not much of a retirement since he soon lived out his true passion of owning a flea market called Main Street Flea Market in Wagoner, OK. With his eagerness to live life to the fullest, Mr. Holland began a new hobby of playing golf at the age of 80. Additionally, he was an active member of the Wagoner Lions Club, the Fort Gibson Lake Association and Sherriff's Association from 1990 to 2008. He also served as the Post Commander of the Wagoner Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for 7 years. Honored and proud to be a veteran, he served as the Grand Marshal in the 2011 Tulsa Veteran's Day Parade. Mr. and Mrs. Holland were fortunate enough to have celebrated their marriage of 71 years on December 10 of this year. His parents, Alfred and Tressie, his two sisters, Betty Jean Childress and Jewel Barron, and an extensive list of friends who have waited for his arrival precede him in death. Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Bonnie Holland and his sister, Lillian Porterfield. Gerald and Bonnie had two children, son, Darrel Holland and his wife Deena Holland of Pioneer, CA. and daughter, Sue Williams and her husband, Charles Williams of Broken Arrow, OK. Additionally, five grandchildren, Darren and Dustin Holland, Gavin Bates, Patricia Iven (Andrew) and Erin Bates, all whom live in Tulsa, OK. The Holland family is so greatly appreciative to the entire staff at Tulsa Jewish and Miller Hospice for their continuous and loving care during this transition. In lieu of flowers, a game of dominoes or bingo can be played in his memory and/or donations can be made to VFW Post, 1109 E. 6th. Tulsa, OK. 74120. The viewing will be held Tuesday the 18th at 6 p.m. at Moore's Southlawn and funeral will be Wednesday the 19th at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Memorial Park in Tulsa.
