"Drum Major" Co. "H", 6th N.J. Infantry. Enlisted 8/9/61. He was mustered in on 8/26/61. He was discharged for disability on 9/10/62 at Newark, N.J.. Enlisted again on 12/30/1863 into Co. "A", 3rd N.J. Cav. And was mustered out at Wash., DC, 8/1/65.

(2) Mary Ann Everett on March 20, 1859 at Stockton, NJ - she was raised in Brookville, Hunterdon County, NJ

Died: March 11, 1894 in Stockton, Hunterdon County, NJ of pneumonia secondary to lung disease contracted in service.

Enlisted Aug. 26, 1861 as Drum Major in Co H, 6th NJ Vol. Infantry.
In July 1862, during the Seven Day Fight near Richmond Harrison's Landing, VA, he contracted a "heavy" cold resulting in chronic inflammation of the lungs.

He was honorably discharged Sept. 9, '62 at U.S. General Hospital, Newark, NJ.;
He reenlisted Dec. 30, 1863 in Co A, 3rd NJ Cavalry as a Bugler.;
He was honorably discharged from this unit Aug. 1, 1865.;
