Joel Thomas Asher Sr., 90, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away December 15, 2012 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
He was born January 12, 1922 at Westville, Oklahoma, the son of Joel Frank and Della Elzada Cook Asher.

Joe was one of the co-founders of the Arkansas Trappers Association. He was also a member of the Texas and National Trappers Association and the NRA. He was a accomplished musician. He was a Army Veteran of the WWII where he served during D-Day invasion at Normandy. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #171 of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Laverne Asher; three brothers, Ulys, Buford, Floyd Asher; four sister, Ethel Lowe, Elsie Thornton, Hazel Heisler, and Geneva Smith;

Survivors include two sons, Joel Thomas Asher Jr. and Mike Asher both of Lincoln; three daughters, Beth Ramirez and her husband Martin of Vega, Texas, Mary Brown of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Christie Barker of Stella, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; His special girl friend Imogene Clayton of Farmington.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Luginbuel Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 10:00 A.M. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Paul Young officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery Fayetteville, Arkansas, no services will be held at the Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Arkansas Trapper Association P.O. Box 493 - Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
