Peter was born as Pieter Baardman.
Peter Bartman, a prominent and respected farmer over Middleburg way, died very suddenly, Saturday afternoon.
As was his custom he laid down to take an afterdinner nap.
Shortly after his wife heard him breathing laboriously and went to see what was the matter. Seeing that he was suffering she called to one of the boys to phone for doctor, which he did, but before he had finished doing so Mr. Bartman had breathed his last.
What makes it so sad and heartreading for the family and relatives is that Mr. Bartman had never complained of being unwell and his death being wholly unexpected.
Everybody for miles sympathizes with the bereaved.
