Olive R. Myers was born at Maquoketa, Iowa
on September 15, 1861. Early in her life she
came with her parents to Frankfort, Kansas,
where she met and was later married to John
E. Myers in 1881. To this union was born
one daughter and two sons, of whom the
daughter and one son as well as her husband
have preceded her in death. She is survived
by one son, Dr. John Myers, and his wife of
Lutesville, Missouri.
For many years Mrs. Myers has been a
member of the Presbyterian Church. The
major part of her life was spent on a farm
south of Frankfort. In 1910 she and her
husband moved to Topeka, Kansas where
she resided until the death of her husband
in 1933, since which time she has made her
home with her son, Dr. John Myers in Luts-
ville, Missouri, where she passed away on
June 19, 1941 at the age of 79 years, 9
months and 4 days.
Funeral services were held at Oelkers Chapel
at Frankfort, Kansas on Sunday, June 22, at
9:00 a.m. with Reverend O.J. McCulloh
officiating.
Pallbearers were Dr. J.H. Kraemer, Melvin
Farrant, Ollie Slifer, Fred Nester, and Fred
Rickson.
She was laid to rest in the family lot in the
Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
