RIVERDALE – Wanda Johnson Gardner, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012. She was born September 19, 1933 in Sandy, Utah to Francis Siverean and Banie Williams Johnson.

She married Joseph Floyd Gardner October 18, 1951 in West Jordan, Utah. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple November 1967. Never a greater love, never a closer couple, He was her only, she his all in all.

Wanda lived in Garden Grove, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Cheyenne, WY, Roy, Riverdale, Sandy, West Jordan, Arizona.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, Primary Presidency, Cub Scouts, Den Mother, Bishops Wife, made over 300 backpacks for the scouts, (very advance packs), genealogical extraction program, extract names/Relief Society.

Wanda worked for Hertz with over 75 employees under her director. She made care bears and donated them to children who were ill or in need. She was a foster parent after raising her own children.

Wanda loved to serve, entertain, sew, and bring joy. Loved to collect glass, genealogy, she made 100 blankets, over 300 care bears. She was independent, determined, organized and loved the Lord. She had the art to create peace among all she met. These same talents she strived to teach her children and grandchildren. Her desire was that they be in tune with the spirit and increase in talent and knowledge. She will be there challenging and helping them throughout eternity.

She is survived by her husband Joseph, children: Joseph F. Gardner, Robert Wayne Gardner, Robyn Gardner Oleson, Tina Gardner Rayez, 27 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Stella Johnson Schild, Edda Johnson Timmerman, Alene Whittle, and her brother, John Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Banie and Francis J. Johnson, daughter Sylvia Gardner Hill, grandchildren Roxy Hubler, Jeremiah Oleson, her twin brother Wayne Johnson, brother Jimmy Johnson and sister Shirley Johnson Draney.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 8th Ward, 4000 South 1150 West, Riverdale, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church, prior to services.
