WATERBORO – Esther A. Abbott, 81, of West Road, died Monday, October 14, 1996 at her residence.
She was a daughter of George and Ellen Goodwin Brock, and received her teaching certificate from the former Gorham Normal School when she was 17 years old.
Mrs. Abbott was a lifelong resident of South Waterboro.
For over 25 years, she was an elementary school teacher in Solon, Waterboro and Sanford, where she taught for 13 years. in 1969, she received a bachelor's degree in education from the former Gorham State Teacher's College.
She was a member of the Old Corner Church, and enjoyed music and sewing.
Her husband, Frank H. Abbott, died several years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Ruth E. MacGregor of West Paris, Kaye E. Boothby of Kennebunk and Joan C. Willard of Falls Church, VA; a brother, Norman Brock of Auburn; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
