From the Westford Wardsman, 4 Sept. 1915
Mrs. Susan Prescott Wright Noyes, who died in Brookline last week Thursday, was the daughter of John and Susan (Prescott) Wright. Her father was a native of Westford and principal of Westford academy from 1823 until 1827. Her mother was Miss Susan Prescott of Groton, a woman of rare charm and refinement. In 1872, Miss Wright married George Dana Noyes, a lawyer, of Boston, and son of Prof. Noyes, of Harvard. The family home was in Brookline until the death of her husband. Early in August she came to Brookline to spend a few weeks with old friends and was stricken with illness that expert medical skill could not combat. She is survived by two daughters, Bessie, wife of Rev. Arthur Mabon, of New York city, and Emma, wife of Edward C. Holden, of Para. Brazil; also, three grand-sons. Miss Ella Wright whose summer home is at the old Levi T. Fletcher place at Brookside, is one of her several cousins.
The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at Mount Auburn, Rev. Howard N. Brown, of King's chapel, Boston, conducting the services. An intimate acquaintance volunteers this tribute to her life: "Mrs. Noyes will be remembered with loving fidelity by all who came within the influence of the sweet and sincere nobility of her character and the gracious charm of her presence. In her rare devotion as daughter, sister, wife and mother, she never limited her interests to the domestic circle. As neighbor and friend her sympathies were warm and far reaching. Both in Lowell and in Brookline she gave never failing support to her church and to all worthy philanthropies."
