Robert E. "Sonny" Wilson, 86, loving husband, father, and grandfather, was born August 19, 1926 in Goose Creek and passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home in Baytown.

He was a 1945 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a U. S. Army WWII veteran. He retired from Exxon Refinery as a chief operator. He was a member of Coady Baptist Church, Sampson Masonic Lodge #231, and the Scottish Rite.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman but what he truly enjoyed most was playing softball with the senior citizens leagues.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lula Wilson and sisters, Amy Sanders, Mildred Ashley, and Patricia Brumfield. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edlene Wilson.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.
