Anna “Ruth” James, 90, of Salisbury, PA, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at her residence.
Born July 6, 1928, in West Salisbury, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fay and Mary (Bodes) Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Mark James; one daughter, Barbara Tice; two brothers, John and Bill Harris; and one grandson, Jeffrey Shoemaker.

Mrs. James was a homemaker and a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren, the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Shoemaker and husband, Gene, Springs, PA; Pat Maust and husband, Art, Swanton, OH; three sisters, Dorothy Miller and Alice Mae O’Donnell, both of Salisbury; Mary Jane Brown, Waynesburg, PA; four grandchildren, Nieda Palmer, Erica Howard, Kimberly Miller and Jennifer Maust; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Saturday from 1-6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.
